Peru’s congress has elected a new interim president, just one day after former leader Jose Jeri was ousted over a corruption scandal.
Leftist politician Jose Balcazar will lead the government until elections in April.
But like many of Peru’s recent presidents, Balcazar’s career has also been marked by accusations of corruption.
