Trump specifically called on NATO, China, and Japan to step in, arguing that these countries depend heavily on the vital shipping route for energy supplies.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important oil transit chokepoints, carrying a significant portion of global energy shipments. Any disruption could have major economic and geopolitical consequences.
This comes amid rising tensions in the Middle East following the ongoing conflict, with concerns growing over global trade, energy security, and the risk of further escalation.
