Gaza’s Rafah crossing is reopening for the first time in nearly two years for Palestinians who need urgent medical care.
Ambulances and busses are taking patients and their family members from southern Gaza to the border with Egypt.
Al Jazeera’s senior political analyst, Marwan Bishara, says Rafah’s “100 days too late” reopening proves Israel still tightly controls Gaza and that Palestinians now face a prolonged “war by other means” shaped by US policy, Trump’s Gaza plan and Netanyahu’s election politics.
